Procell Microchanneling Info and FAQ’s

Procell Microchanneling is the most effective and non-invasive skin rejuvenating procedure which helps improve the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation & acne scarring, among other skin issues and keeps skin looking and feeling younger. This unique therapy was developed in America by a Licensed Aesthetician as well as a Board Certified Dermatologist.

The procedure makes uniform holes in the outermost layer of your skin, the same size & the same depth, without damaging or scratching your skin. These tiny holes, also known as channels, are the perfect way to get healing products into your skin, such as the ProCell serum which has stem cell technology. This treatment is clinically proven to increase collagen & elastin production, which in turn increases the thickness of the skin while improving the appearance of wrinkles, uneven skin tone & texture, fine lines, acne scars/surgical scars, stretch marks and more.

What‘s the difference between Microchanneling and Microneedling?

• Procell Microchanneling is the next generation, less abrasive, non-invasive, AND much needed upgrade to Microneedling, considered Microneedling evolved. 

• The main difference between the two is the type of device used to perform the treatment and the technique that is used. Microneedling uses a handheld “roller“ covered in tiny needles that is dragged over the skin that can actually put micro tears in the skin. Procell Microchanneling, on the other hand, uses a device that contains small wire based fillaments and uses a “stamping” technique which creates micro vertical channels into the skin for better and deeper product penetration. This creates less trauma to the skin and avoids the risk of micro tears and damaged skin as well.
• Downtime with Microchanneling is minimal compared to Microneedling with equivalent results.

• A human growth factor serum is applied during and after treatment which is derived from bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells known to promote scarless healing with minimal inflammation. Applying this immediately after/during Microchanneling treatment enhances delivery of product and collagen growth.

• ProCell Microchanneling therapy helps reduce or even eliminate scars from the skin.

Procell Microchanneling can last anywhere from 2 to 10 years, depending on clients age and lifestyle!

For light anti-aging treatments, 1 to 2 treatments may be sufficient but for deeper wrinkles & scarring, you may require 4 to 6 treatments to achieve desired results. An interval of 4 weeks between treatments is typically recommended. Though neocollagenesis (the production of new collagen) can take several weeks, it is not abnormal to notice an improvement in the quality and appearance of your skin within the first 24 hours. After 2-3 treatments a thicker more robust, collagen filled cellular matrix will produce more consistent and noticeable improvement. For hair loss, typically 5 treatments is needed spaced 2 weeks apart.

Microchanneling doesn’t hurt, but it does not feel too good either. For this reason, we apply a light topical numbing cream to help ease any discomfort. 

After each treatment, your skin will be pink or red in appearance for the first 24 to 72 hours. Its very common to feel sunburnt or chaffed, slightly dry and/or tight within this time as well.

• You have infection of any type (bacterial, viral or fungal)
• You have had radiation therapy recently
• You have open wounds
• You have Keloid scars
• You are immuno suppressed 
• You have uncontrolled diabetes, hemophilia, or bleeding disorders
• Have used accutane within 2 years
• Stainless steel allergies

Microchanneling treatments are absolutely safe and side effects are uncommon when being performed by knowledgeable and trained skincare professionals. Here at Tranquil Escape, we are certified Procell Practioners by certificate of training within the company.

• Do NOT touch your face for the first 2 hours!!
• Spray eyeglasses and cell phone down with alcohol before using immediately following treatment to be sure no bacteria gets into the skin.
• Avoid washing your face for at least the first 6 hours. You can wash the treated area gently with a gentle cleanser and apply moisturizer thereafter.
• After the treatment, nothing topical should be applied for at least 2 hours.
• Do not exfoliate at least for 7 days.
• Avoid direct sunlight for at least 24 hours post treatment.
• Ensure you have proper sun protection whenever you are out in the sun.
• Avoid swimming or jogging for at least 48-72 hours.
• Avoid vigorous exercise for first 48-72 hours.
• Avoid anti-inflammatory medication pre and post treatment.
• Avoid makeup for at least 6 hours after the procedure.
